About the Author

Dr. Lucy Dávila Hakemack is a wife, mother of five, and grandmother of four children. She is a native of Houston, but now resides in San Antonio, Texas. She studied at the University of Houston and received her B.S. in Elementary Education, later receiving her M.S. at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She earned her PhD. from the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Hakemack has served as a teacher, counselor, and principal at all three levels of public education. She has also written curriculum and children’s stories. Her hobbies include grandchildren, reading and writing, researching Texas history, church activities, traveling, and exercising with friends.
